Evergreen Point Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Baytown, Texas, just minutes from the San Jacinto Battlefield where Sam Houston and his army defeated the Mexican Army to gain independence for Texas.
The course, designed by Jay Riviere, opened for play in 1996.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6.969 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5.348 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 560 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 159 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 462 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 14, a 176 yard par-3.
The signature hole is #3, a 462-yard, par 4, which is very difficult and requires a shot through tall magnolia trees on both sides of the fairway to a slightly elevated green.
Water comes into play on fifteen of the eighteen holes, and with more than forty bunkers, accuracy is a must. The bunkered greens are large sized and undulating, while the contoured fairways are lined with oak, magnolias, pine, and dogwood trees.
The course closed in January 2016.
